Job Description:
Delivery and warehouse duties. Required to transport materials over delivery routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of customer orders. Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to delivery location. Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material being unloaded is correct based on the Ship Ticket. Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in an orderly fashion. Perform cycle count duties.
This is a safety-sensitive position, the ability to work in a constant state of awareness and in a safe manner is imperative. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. This test screens for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license in state of residence with a minimum of three (3) driving history. Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) with no type A violation; or no more than one (1) type B violation in the past three (3) years. Previous experience operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more. Must be able to read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze. Function independently, completing a variety of tasks accurately and with close attention to detail in a team environment. Fluent in English and Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions. Must adhere to the proper safety regulations since there will be occasional exposure to events such as excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Regular handling of objects and lifting of up to 75 pounds. Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in Sec. 391.41. A Department of Transportation physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner. The USDOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation, 49 CFR Part 40, at 40.151(e), does not authorize 'medical marijuana' under state law as a valid medical explanation for a transportation employee's positive drug test result.
