Sales Positions at Elliott Electric
All of our stores have sales counters staffed by "Counter Sales" persons. Customers often come to our Sales Counters to order and pick up their merchandise rather than wait on a delivery truck. The Counter Sales job mixes the physical requirements of the warehouse with the need for product application knowledge. The Counter Sales person helps the customer select the appropriate product, picks the material from the warehouse, and loads the material for the customer. Successful warehouse personnel are candidates for Counter Sales Staff because they have become familiar with the material we stock, where it is located, and the customers with whom we do business. In many of our stores, Counter Sales people also perform the job of Inside Sales.
Customers cannot always wait for an Outside Sales person to call on them for routine orders. Sometimes they require technical information, a quotation, or need to place an immediate order on the phone for delivery or pick up. Inside Sales people handle these phone transactions. In many stores, Counter Sales and Inside Sales functions are performed by the same people. Inside Sales and Counter Sales positions are great opportunities to prepare to become an Outside Sales person.
The Outside Sales staffs at Elliott Electric are highly compensated professionals. They deal with customers face to face daily, recommend the right products for a job, and may suggest new or advanced applications for our products. Outside sales people keep customers supplied with product literature and catalog information. They help "spec" electrical products from blueprints for our contractor customers and help factory maintenance and engineering personnel with their electrical systems' needs. Outside Sales people need an excellent product background as well as sales skills. Above all, the Outside Sales person is responsible for courteously and effectively meeting customer demands for our products and services.
