IT Technicians
Business at Elliott Electric Supply has come to rely heavily on our advanced computer network. Customers' orders are immediately reflected in the system and our inventory levels are thus displayed in real-time. Within the company, each of our various departments depend on software specifically made to help carry out their daily tasks. In order to access the Elliott Menu of company programs, which organizes dozens of applications according to the departments that use them, our stores (over 100 and counting) use thin-client PC's to connect to software servers in Nacogdoches via remote desktop protocol.
In addition to installing and repairing all computer hardware used by the company, the IT Technician department must maintain the vital networks that keep the company running at full speed. Our technicians must respond to any problems that arise with computers, printers, or networks inside the company. In addition, they must monitor the accuracy and proper functioning of software systems used regularly by our customers, like automated inventory control and EDI order tracking.
With new locations opening often, and constant improvements and new releases being made from our Software Development department, IT Technicians are kept busy by preparing and installing new computer workstations for store openings and accommodating new software. The department serves as our company HelpDesk, assisting both company employees and customer users in taking full advantage of Elliott Electric technology.
